Twenty billion dollars, and the filings

A speaker directory credits him with transactions totalling over $20 billion. The documents filed by the companies on his record show a €101.3 million loss, an airline in liquidation, a receivership over claims above a billion dollars, two dissolved companies and a directorship absent from every SEC filing.

The record

Established

  • The Eventible speaker directory states: 'Mr. Madnani is an Executive Leader and deal maker with global business achievements including high-level transactions totaling over $20B USD.'
  • The same profile describes him as Co-Founder and CEO of Beacon Media, based in the UAE.
  • Aurelian Oil & Gas Limited's audited accounts for 2012, the last year of his directorship, record a group net loss of €101.3 million against €10.4 million the year before, capital expenditure down from €48.8 million to €13.9 million, and nil new capital raised.
  • The Supreme Court of India ordered the liquidation of Jet Airways on 7 November 2024, setting aside the NCLAT's approval of the takeover by the consortium whose London arm, Kalrock Capital, had him on its board.
  • Neconde Energy Limited, listed among his former non-executive directorships, had its accounts, shares and assets frozen by the Federal High Court in Lagos in October 2025 over claims exceeding USD 1.01 billion and NGN 430 billion.
  • Two UK companies named SME CAPITAL LIMITED, the name appearing on his profile as a former non-executive directorship, are recorded as dissolved — one on 12 July 2016, the other on 25 June 2019.
  • A full-text search of every document Marathon Digital Holdings has filed with the SEC under CIK 0001507605 returns zero results for 'Madnani'.
  • Companies House records him as an officer of two companies. His published profiles list twenty-seven affiliations.

Unresolved

  • What the $20 billion figure counts. The profile does not define it, give a period, or say whether it refers to transactions he led, advised on, or sat near.
The claimed figure set beside the figures filed with registries and courts
Left: the claim, as published on a speaker directory. Right: figures taken from audited accounts, court reporting and statutory registers. Sources for every line are listed below.

There is a sentence on his speaking profile that this archive can neither confirm nor refute, and that is the point of publishing it.

Mr. Madnani is an Executive Leader and deal maker with global business achievements including high-level transactions totaling over $20B USD.

Twenty billion dollars. The profile does not say over what period, in what capacity, or what a transaction is counted as. There is no filing anywhere that reports it, and no way for a reader to test it.

What a reader can test is what the companies on his record filed with registries and told courts. Those documents exist, they are dated, and they say the following.

What is filed

€101.3 million. The audited accounts of Aurelian Oil & Gas Limited for 2012 — his last year on that board — record a group net loss of €101.3 million, against €10.4 million the year before. Capital expenditure fell from €48.8 million to €13.9 million. New capital raised: nil. Three weeks after the year end the company was sold and nine of twelve directors resigned on one day.

Liquidation. On 7 November 2024 the Supreme Court of India ordered Jet Airways into liquidation and set aside the tribunal approval of the takeover by the consortium whose London arm, Kalrock Capital, had him on its board. He had spoken for that consortium on the record when it won the bid.

A receivership over more than a billion dollars. In October 2025 the Federal High Court in Lagos froze the accounts, shares and assets of Neconde Energy Limited — listed among his former non-executive directorships — over claims exceeding USD 1.01 billion and NGN 430 billion.

Two dissolutions. SME Capital appears on his profile as a former non-executive directorship. Companies House holds two companies of that exact name. Both are dissolved: one in July 2016, one in June 2019.

Zero. His position at MARA is the most prominent line on his current profile. Marathon Digital Holdings has never named him in a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Two out of twenty-seven. The number of his stated affiliations that a statutory register confirms.

The distinction that has to be made

None of the above is an accusation, and none of it is offered as one.

Exploration companies write down failed programmes; that is what a €101.3 million loss at an unsuccessful shale play looks like, and twelve directors shared that boardroom. An airline liquidation is the outcome of a failed transaction, not a finding against an individual. He is not a party to the Nigerian proceedings and is not named in the reporting on them. Companies are dissolved for ordinary reasons. Senior staff below executive-officer level are not named in SEC filings, and most jurisdictions do not publish officer registers at all.

Every one of those defences is real, and this archive has published each of them in full on the page where it belongs.

What is left when you have made every allowance

A claim of twenty billion dollars, published by the subject, resting on nothing a reader can open.

And a filed record of a nine-figure loss, a liquidation ordered by a supreme court, a receivership over a billion-dollar claim, two dissolved companies, a flagship role that appears in no securities filing, and twenty-five affiliations out of twenty-seven that no register will corroborate.

Both belong on the file. This archive has put them on the same page because that is where the reader needs them, and has drawn no conclusion from the juxtaposition.

Readers may draw their own. That is what a record is for.
