What the public record on Manoj Narender Madnani actually contains

Five documented facts name him personally. Four more matters are documented around him without naming him. Setting out which is which, with the source for each, is the whole purpose of this archive.

Portrait: Energy Council speaker profile

Searches for Manoj Narender Madnani return two kinds of result and almost nothing in between: promotional profiles on one side, and on the other, summaries that place him adjacent to serious allegations without saying what, precisely, is alleged against whom.

Both are useless to anyone doing actual diligence. Here is the third thing.

What names him

He is Managing Director, International at MARA. Marathon Digital Holdings, the Nasdaq-listed bitcoin mining group, announced his appointment to lead its EMEA expansion. This is a company announcement, not a claim by a third party.

He sat on the board of Kalrock Capital. CNBC-TV18 identified him as a board member and carried his statement on the record after the Jalan Kalrock Consortium was declared the winning bidder for Jet Airways. That is a named outlet, quoting him by name, in his stated capacity.

He is the beneficial owner of a British Virgin Islands company. The ICIJ Offshore Leaks Database, from the Pandora Papers, records Narenderkumar Dharamveer Manoj Madnani as the ultimate beneficial owner of Flintree Holdings Limited, incorporated 4 April 2010. The ICIJ says explicitly that inclusion is not evidence of wrongdoing, and we say it with them.

His investment vehicle brought a federal lawsuit in Minnesota. Nubai Global Investment Limited v. Clarke, docket 0:18-cv-02228 in the District of Minnesota, filed 31 July 2018, terminated 14 March 2019. Nubai, held through his firm DSA Investments, was the plaintiff.

He founded DSA Investments and co-founded Beacon Media. Both are documented in his professional profiles and, for Beacon, in Gulf trade press coverage of its partnerships.

What does not name him

This is the part that summaries collapse, and it is the part that matters most.

The money-laundering allegation in the Jet Airways matter was made on 4 October 2023 by Additional Solicitor General N Venkatraman, acting for the airline’s lenders, before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal. It concerned the consortium’s source of funds. It was denied on the record the same day by the consortium’s counsel. No source we have located extends that allegation to Madnani personally.

The Liechtenstein criminal investigation concerns Florian Fritsch, who promotes Kalrock Capital. It is his assets that were seized — seven Porsches, five Rolexes, a car simulator — and his appeal that the Liechtenstein Supreme Court rejected. Madnani is not a subject of it in any reporting we have found.

The Minnesota litigation ran in the opposite direction to how it is usually summarised. The fraud alleged in that complaint was alleged by Madnani’s side, against Thomas Clarke. Clarke disputed it publicly and gave his own account to the Wall Street Journal.

The Jet Airways liquidation was ordered by the Supreme Court of India in November 2024. It is the outcome of a failed transaction, not a finding against any individual.

The distinction this archive holds

Proximity is not participation. A man who sits on the board of a company whose promoter is under investigation is a man who sits on that board — no more, until a source says more.

That sentence is the editorial line of this site, and every page is built to hold it. Where the record grows, these pages grow with it. Where it does not, they say so.
